What is remote notarization?

In-person notarization involves the notary and the signer being physically present together, which is not a characteristic of remote notarization. Written communication does not meet the legal requirements for notarization, as it lacks the necessary real-time verification processes or visual confirmation. Postal mail is also an insufficient method because it does not involve the immediate interaction required for authenticating a signature or identity in a notarization.
